Instructions for determining Computer NetBIOS Name:

Windows NT, 2000, XP, and Windows 7 users

1. Run or Download the following executable file to determine your computer’s NetBIOS name: getNetBIOScomputerNameA.exe. A typical location for the executable file would be the user’s Downloads folder.
2. If the file was downloaded in Step 1 (e.g., in the Downloads folder), please navigate to the folder containing the downloaded file.
3. Run the executable file from the containing folder (e.g., Downloads).
4. The computer will respond with the NetBIOS name (e.g., “CEE-KGB” is the NetBIOS name for the computer). This is the NetBIOS name to provide during the registration process.
